WurlD explained that he originally wrote the song from his own perspective and did not have another artiste in mind when he created it.
According to him, ‘Blow My Mind’ only became a Davido release because the song happened to find its way to the singer at the time.
“I wrote ‘Blow My Mind’ for myself. It just happened that it happened to be a Davido release in the record,” WurlD said.
He explained that there are different approaches to songwriting, noting that while he sometimes creates songs based on his own experiences, he also works directly with artistes to craft records around their stories and experiences.
“Sometimes, I also sit down and craft songs specifically for other artistes,” he said.
WurlD said that when he creates music from his own perspective, he remains open to another artiste recording it if the person connects with the song and feels it reflects their own experience.
He stressed that there is no fixed formula for creating music, adding that a song initially written for himself can ultimately become a record for another artiste when the artist identifies with it.
The songwriter noted that his conversation while creating ‘Blow My Mind’ was a general one rather than an attempt to write specifically for Davido.
“A ‘Blow My Mind’ conversation was a general conversation,” he explained.
